What we read in the reviews
The price on your first invoice is not the price on your twelfth
You sign up at a price. Six months later, it has gone up, and not by two euros. Nobody called to warn you, you found out on the invoice, and the justification fits in one stock phrase, with no figure attached. You stay anyway, because clearing everything out and moving it all again would cost more than the increase. That is a calculation they made before you did.
The day you want to leave, you read the contract again and find the small print. The notice period does not start on the date you thought. One day into the following month, and you are billed for the whole month. You paid the first month at one euro like any other. And their own insurance gets added to the rent every month, because your insurer's certificate is never in the right format.
Then there is what you find when you come back. Mouse droppings in the boxes. A smell that will not go away. A sofa you will not bring back home. Then the insurer asks for receipts for furniture you have owned for twenty years. You call, they ask you to prove the damage, then they stop answering altogether. The silence that follows does more damage than the mice.

Concrete floor, enclosed building, an area reserved for units with its own entrance. On the day you move in, we walk the unit with you and take dated photos. Same on the day you leave. If anything is off between the two, we come and look, and you get an answer in writing.

A direct number, not a voice menu or a form that never gets answered. Pierre lives in Hautrage and is on site most days. He also answers by email: you do not need to phone to get a written answer.

Six questions, and our answers, the way we give them on the phone
- You are not open yet. What do I do with my boxes next week?
- Nothing with us, and that is a genuine problem: the building is still under construction. If your move is in a fortnight, call anyway. We will tell you honestly whether we can take you, and if not, where to go instead. If it is in two or three months, sign up: you get to choose your unit before anyone else and you keep the launch rate.
- There are pellets in the same building. Will my things end up smelling of wood?
- Good question. The units sit in an enclosed area, with its own entrance and its own ventilation. The pellet depot is on the other side of the building, and no pellet truck ever passes your door. It is as much in our interest as yours: no one wants a sofa back covered in sawdust.
- And in six months, will you put the price up like everyone else?
- That is what happens elsewhere, and it is the most common complaint in reviews of the trade. Your price is fixed for twelve months in the contract. After that, if it has to change, you get a letter beforehand, never a surprise invoice, and you can leave with no penalty. We gain more from filling up quickly and keeping people than from squeezing ten euros out of those already here.
- You are on your own. What if you are not there the day I need to get in?
- True, there is no front desk open from nine to seven. You do not need us to get in: you have your code and your key. We are there for the moments something goes wrong, and that is exactly where the big chains become impossible to reach. Pierre lives in the village, a few minutes from the building.
- Do I have to take your insurance?
- No. Many operators add it to the rent by default. What is in the unit stays yours, insure it however you like, or not at all. If your insurer asks for a certificate, we write one. Elsewhere, you are asked for a new one every year, with wording that changes each time. Not here. We do not sell insurance and we take no commission on it.
- A lift, corridors, a trolley to book: will this take all day?
- It is true that many storage centres are multi storey buildings, with a lift to share and trolleys that run out on Saturdays. Here, it is a warehouse: everything is on one level, you drive right up to the building and walk in through the unit area door. No lift breaking down with you inside, no goods lift slot to book.
