Who can get in, and who cannot
The question we get asked most, right after the price. Here is what is in place, what is not yet, and by when.

An enclosed building, not a yard
The units sit inside a brick and concrete warehouse, under a roof, behind a sectional door. This is not a container left in a car park, nor a garage unit opening onto the street.

A separate area, with its own entrance
The units occupy one half of the building, walled off from the pellet depot by a solid wall, with its own entrance. No pellet truck ever passes your door, and no one collecting bags ever walks through the unit area.

Your lock, your key
You fit your own padlock, or one we sell you at the price we paid for it. No one else has the key, not even Pierre. That is also why we cannot open your unit for you if you lose the key.

Concrete floor, dry building
Concrete slab, no bare earth, no basement. On the day you move in, we walk the unit with you and note what we see: it is written down and signed by both of us, and the same happens the day you leave.

Someone on site, almost every day
Pierre lives in Hautrage and works in the building. He is not a security guard, and we will not present him as one: he is someone who is around, who sees things, and who can be called.
What we do not promise
There is no code-based access control yet, and no cameras. Both are planned, and we will not announce them before they are installed and tested: a site that promises a camera that does not exist puts its customers at real risk.
There is no insurance included, and we will not force one on you. Your home insurance often already covers belongings stored outside the home: call your broker before paying twice. If it does not cover it, we will tell you where to find some, with no commission for us.
And there is no twenty-four hour access for now. Access hours are posted at the entrance and written into the contract. They will widen once access control is in place.
The timeline, as it stands
- Unit partitions and doors: under way, work due to finish before the heating season
- Code-based access control: ordered, to be installed after the partitions
- Cameras on the aisles and entrance: after access control
- Wider access hours: the day access control is tested, not before
This page is updated at every step. If a line is still here in six months, it means nothing has moved.
